May 29 | Biel and Timberlake eye ski lodge retreat
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are expanding their property empire – they’re buying a ski cottage in U.S. snow sports mecca Park City, Utah. Just months after they splashed out on a new home in New York’s Tribeca neighbourhood, the celebrity pair is eyeing a romantic holiday home in the ski resort. Spies who spotted them househunting during a visit to Park City in April tell Us Weekly, “They love snowboarding, and when they were in town recently for a wedding, they looked at lots of homes.”
May 26 | Biel regrets dropping out of university
Jessica Biel has admitted that she regrets putting her movie ambitions before her education. The actress studied at Tufts University in Massachusetts for over a year, but dropped out of her courses after being offered the part of Erin in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Biel has now revealed that she considers the decision to be a mistake because she missed out on life-changing experiences with her classmates. Speaking to Allure magazine, she explained: “I wish I would have had that time that my girlfriends all had. I wish I would have lived in that crappy, nasty brownstone that they all lived in. If I had to do it again, I would have stuck around and finished it out.” The star recently claimed that she is unsure over whether to marry boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
May 23 | Jessica Biel: It’s Hard to Be Beautiful
It’s not easy being beautiful. Just ask Jessica Biel, who despite her stunning looks, perfect figure and hot boyfriend, says Hollywood discriminates. In a new interview with Allure magazine, on newsstands May 26, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre actress says that being too good-looking can be a problem for an actress. “It really is a problem, I have to be blunt,” she says. “I just want an opportunity. If you don’t like the audition, then don’t hire me. But if you don’t want to see me, that’s hurtful.” Still, the star says she has “a lot to do, careerwise” and is looking to get roles like her fellow actresses Scarlett Johannson and Natalie Portman. But what’s not part of her current plans, despite the fact that she and singer Justin Timberlake seem to be very much in love, is marriage. “I have no idea if I want to get married, she says. And the antique emerald ring all the tabloids say Justin bought for her during their romantic trip to Rome? “I bought that ring for myself,” she proudly declares.
May 20 | Biel is picture perfect for paparazzi
Actress Jessica Biel always leaves the house looking perfect – because she doesn’t want to see an ugly picture of herself on the front of a newspaper. The star became a major target for the paparazzi when she started dating pop singer Justin Timberlake in 2007 and is constantly hounded by photographers eager to get shots of the couple together. And Biel now refuses to be seen out and about looking less than her best, as there is always an eager snapper waiting for her. She tells Allure magazine, “It’s wonderful to do what I do, but everything that goes with it? It’s bizarre. The invasion of privacy is very tough. I am followed all day, every day. Going to the dentist, the cleaners. “I guess I could look like s**t going to the dentist, but only if I didn’t care what I saw in the papers.”
May 17 | Biel happy not to join fox hunt
Jessica Biel was secretly glad to learn she couldn’t ride a motorcycle in a movie fox hunt on the set of Easy Virtue – because she detests bloodsports. Insurance bosses refused to allow the actress to actually ride in the hoax hunt – alongside horses and hounds – and so she had to ride a stationary bike for her close-ups as her double took off across rural England. Biel reveals, “We faked it. I was shot in close-up sitting on a stationary bike and then they had a double ride. They didn’t get the insurance for me to ride the bike, which happens all the time. “I never really get to do all the fun stuff. I would’ve wanted to ride but I’m not really a fan of the fox hunt. It’s not really what I’m into; I don’t really want to shoot (sic) animals like that.”
May 14 | Biel thinks Timberlake’s SNL act was ‘really funny’
Justin Timberlake’s recent Saturday Night Live appearance has left many gushing about his performance, including his girlfriend Jessica Biel. The actress confessed how much she loved the SexyBack singer’s act on the hit late-might show. “I think he just killed it. The Motherlover skit [where Timberlake and Andy Samberg joke about sleeping with each other's mothers] was so wrong, it had to be right,” the New York Daily News quoted Jessica as saying. Talking about the sketch in which Timberlake admits to bedding his ex, Britney Spears, Biel said: “I thought that was really funny.” The Illusionist star even revealed that Justin didn’t tell her about the show’s content in advance. “I had heard a couple of things [about the show], but I didn’t really know what it was actually going to be. It was all pretty much a surprise,” said Jessica. Biel, who introduced Timberlake when he performed with musical guest Ciara, described her on-air experience as “nerve-racking. “It’s a tough crowd because it’s live and it’s a big venue,” she said.
