If sources are to be believed, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s relationship is on the rocks. “Things don’t look good for them right now — they’ve hit a really rocky spot,” the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying. While rumours are abuzz that the singer cheated at NYC nightclub Avenue this month, pals say that the problems between the couple started much before in February. The source said: “Justin had to leave dinner once because Jessica was calling him incessantly. They got into a huge screaming match over the phone about how she’s always ‘checking up’ on him. She’s extremely needy and is always keeping tabs on him.” The Illusionist star is, apparently, infamous among her friends too. The insider said: “All his friends think she’s really annoying, she’s always trying to be one of the guys. She and Justin have no chemistry.” The source added: “Justin is partying in London right now, Jessica wanted to go with him, but he wasn’t having it. He just wanted to get away with the guys. He needed his space from her.” However, one of Justin’s friend and former ’N Sync cohort, Lance Bass, disagrees. He says: “Jessica is really fun to be around. I haven’t spoken to Justin in a while, but the last I knew, he really loved her.”

Singer Justin Timberlake’s mother is prodding him to have babies with girlfriend Jessica Biel. Outside a recent party, the singer’s mother, Lynn Harless, was spotted saying that she did not want to be an ‘old grandmother’, and was thus pushing her son to get on with procreating. Harless said that she had Justin at the age of 20, and thought that being a young mother was ideal because it leaves a woman with ’so much more energy’. She also added the SexyBack singer’s career was so successful that he had the opportunity to focus now on ‘other things’, reports Fox News. But, apparently, Biel, 27, and Harless do not have the same views when it comes to starting a family. The actress told this month’s issue of Allure that she had ‘no idea’ whether she wanted to get married, and had still had ‘a lot to do, careerwise’. And the same goes for Justin, as his mother told her friends that he told her to ‘cut it out’, whenever she brings up kids. Harless also said that Jessica and Justin were getting more serious about tying the knot, and she respected them for wanting to do things ‘right’.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake spent “hours” on the phone before their first date. The Powder Blue actress – who has been dating the pop heartthrob since 2007 – revealed she and Justin were set up by a pal but wanted to get to know each other before meeting. She told US TV talk show host David Letterman: “We’ve been dating a couple of years. I don’t really like to talk about it much, though. We met through a mutual friend but we had a lot of phone conversations before meeting up so got to know each other that way. But they were PG phone calls!” Jessica recently revealed she has no desire to get married in the near future as she wants to concentrate on her career. The 27-year-old beauty – who recently set up home with Justin – said: “I have no idea if I want to get married. I have a lot to do, career-wise. You love who you love. It’s not like you meet somebody one day and say, ‘OK, I’m not going to put up with his fame!’ Or, ‘Yes, I am going to put up with his celebrity.’ You can’t choose that. It just happens to you.”

But that film flopped there last year and has received a limited release in the U.S. And Biel’s most recent film, Powder Blue, has gone straight to DVD. Biel insists her good looks are partly to blame, telling Allure magazine, “Yeah, (my looks) really (are) a problem. I have to be blunt. I’m in there with everybody else, fighting for the good parts. Yes, The Illusionist has made a difference – but a huge, massive difference, so I can pick and choose what I want? No. “I just want an opportunity. If you don’t like the audition, don’t hire me! But if you don’t want to even see me – that’s hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!” Biel was recently spotted househunting with Timberlake in New York’s Tribeca neighbourhood, prompting rumours the couple is planning a permanent move to the Big Apple. But she insists she is making the drastic move from Hollywood to Manhattan to try her hand at theatre, adding, “I’m here (in New York) because I’m interested in theatre.” Fans in Los Angeles will get the chance to see Biel as a thespian this summer when she takes to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl as part of a one-off Guys & Dolls production.

The 27-year-old actress plays exotic dancer Rose Johnny in the Powder Blue, which also stars Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta, Lisa Kudrow and Patrick Swayze as a seedy club boss. Images showing the actress half-naked and pouring hot wax on her body have been circulating on the internet for months. And Biel is convinced moviegoers have since lost interest in the film because critics have already dissected her most talked-about scene. She tells the New York Daily News, “You always take that risk, that (your film) might not go anywhere. It’s rare, but it does happen. It’s terrible… “I’m bothered when scenes leak. It’s disappointing how people take your work, put it on the chopping block, rip it apart and judge it. I’m like, ‘Maybe you should just see the movie.’” Powder Blue will be released on DVD this month.

Actress Jessica Biel has been taking secret singing lessons so she can hit the high notes in a one-off stage production of beloved musical Guys & Dolls this summer. The actress, who is dating pop superstar Justin Timberlake, will play Sister Sarah in the stage spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Biel tells WENN, “I’ve been taking voice lessons a couple of times a week and really getting to know the music and working that muscle again which has been quiet a very long time. “I have to learn everything before we go into rehearsal because we only have 10 days to rehearse to put the whole thing together… It’ll be interesting. I plan on seeing the Broadway show soon, which I’m hoping is good.” And Biel could join Mandy Moore if the production ever becomes a movie musical – because it’s the Saved star’s favourite show. Moore tells WENN, “I really love Guys & Dolls. That could be fun. I think I’d have to be a little bit older – because I like the Adelaide part. “But, me, Hugh Jackman… Let’s put it out there.”
