Jul 21 | Jessica Biel Not Perfect
Jessica Biel is “not an angel”, but has to behave herself because of her job. The A Team star admitted while she went through a rebellious stage in her life, she now no longer has the opportunity to go crazy. She explained: “I absolutely had a mad, crazy period. Probably 16 to 22-ish, I was sneaking out of the house, getting in trouble. The thing with the US is you can’t drink until you’re 21, but everyone drinks before. “Listen, I broke the rules just like everyone else does. I’m not an angel, I’m not a perfect person who doesn’t mess up, eat bad, not work out – I mean, I do all of those things. It’s just for the most part, when I’m working, I don’t feel like I have the choice.” The 28-year-old beauty – who sticks to a strict diet and exercise regime while filming – loves drinking alcohol with her friends, but admits she is growing increasingly concerned with the damaging effects it has on her. She explained to Glamour magazine: “I love to go out and dance with my girlfriends and have a couple of glasses of rose and enjoy myself. But I’m just more concerned about how bad I’m going to feel in the morning. “Once the world starts to tilt, I know I should stop. Goldschlager is my ‘I had a terrible night on it and can never drink it again’ shot.” Source: Contactmusic
Jul 18 | Director Quits Troubled Movie
The release of Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal’s new movie Nailed has been thrown into doubt after the director quit the film just before scheduled re-shoots were due to take place. David O. Russell has walked away from the troubled project, about a woman who fights for better health care in the U.S. after getting shot in the head. The movie has been plagued by difficulties since filming began in 2008 – shoots were halted several times due to unpaid fees to crew and acting guild members. It came as producer David Bergstein had to fight off creditors after failing to properly bankroll the movie. A new financier, Ronald Tutor, has since come on board – but Russell feels unable to continue working on the film. He tells The Hollywood Reporter, “This has been a painful process for me. The multiple production delays and stoppages, which were caused by David Bergstein and preceded Ron Tutor’s direct involvement with me, have now spanned two years, and the circumstances under which the film would now be completed are much different on several fundamental levels than when we embarked several years ago. “I, unfortunately, am no longer involved in the project and cannot call it ‘my’ film. I wish Ron Tutor well.” Tutor adds, “(Russell) conducted himself like a perfect gentleman. I understood his position. It really didn’t have anything to do with him but with others, and we just reached a point where I couldn’t do what he wanted. “But it was a decent negotiation between the two of us. No lawyers. No idle threats, just two people trying to clean something up, and we couldn’t get there. It was surprising and disappointing, but I understood.” Source: Contactmusic
Jul 15 | Biel Fears Fans Will Hate ‘The A-Team’
Jessica Biel is concerned her fans will “hate” the big-screen remake of The A-Team – because it was so beloved as a TV show. The actress stars alongside Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper in the movie version of the hit 1980s action series, but fears there will be a backlash from devoted followers of the original show. She says, “There’s a heightened sense of concern when you’re doing something so beloved around the world. What I always think is you can’t please everybody. There will be people who hate it; there will be people who absolutely love it. Hopefully, people will come and see it and make whatever judgement they want.” And despite the predominantly male cast, Biel enjoyed the on-set humour: “It was super-manly, but fun. They loved having some female energy. It was nice to have men and women together. All testosterone, all oestrogen – a little too much of one is never good. I felt very comfortable. But there were a lot of fart jokes!” Source: Contactmusic
Jul 12 | Biel Emotionally ‘Wrecked’ By Critics
Jessica Biel forbids herself from reading news stories about her career and love life – because she feels “completely wrecked” if she comes across harsh criticisms. The A-Team star is often featured in tabloids because of her relationship with singer Justin Timberlake but she insists she has to avoid the temptation to flip through them – because she can’t help but take hurtful comments to heart. She tells Britain’s Glamour magazine, “I’m strict about not doing it (reading gossip). Well… I don’t search it out, but when I stumble upon something, of course I read it. I was looking through a Vogue recently, and I came across the letters page and someone had written in about my recent Vogue cover. “Well, she just thought it was horrible and was asking why they put me on the cover. She thought I was so boring and awful. That completely wrecked me for, like, a day. You can’t help but take it personally.” But the 28 year old admits she understands the interest in her personal life, adding: “I can understand the intrigue, but I would love for everyone to experience what it’s like and then they’d have a real empathy.” Source: Contactmusic
Jul 09 | Jessica Biel Ready For ‘Bad’ Role
Jessica Biel wants to play a “really bad girl”. The A-Team actress admits she is desperate to branch out and try some more “challenging and unexpected” movie roles in her future career. She said: “I would love to play a really bad girl – that would be cool. “Not just a bad girl but maybe a mentally disabled girl or a crazy person or something really challenging and unexpected. “That’s the joy and terrifying element of this business.” The brunette beauty is also keen to show off her musical abilities on the big screen or a stage production. She said: “I’m interested in an organic crossover between music and movies, or Broadway, or movie musical. Something like that is probably a bit more my speed.” In addition, Jessica is keen to explore further opportunities behind the camera. She added to Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “Hopefully, I’ll be able to produce some time soon. I’m directing a short film that I’m writing. I’m just curious about how it all happens on the business side of it all and I just love to write, so I am very interested in that creative process.” Source: Contactmusic
Jul 06 | Jessica Biel Hopes For Big Roles
Jessica Biel “dreams of playing amazing women”. The Illusionist actress admits her ambition is to be cast in a film that represents strong women and will give her more chances of furthering her career, although she confesses not all of her movie projects have worked out. Acknowledging her success so far, the 28-year-old actress said:”Of course I have dreams of playing amazing women and having amazing opportunities. But I feel happy with where I am. Is it perfect? No, but what is? I feel really lucky to have been able to do what I’ve done so far. But then.some of my movies went straight to DVD. One never got finished.” Jessica can currently be seen in The A-Team alongside Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson but the star admits she has never watched the original TV series. She told Total Film magazine: “My brother and I completely missed everything, pretty much. I thought, ‘OK , either see everything or nothing at all. I wanted a completely clean slate.” Source: Contactmusic
